See, our life is surrounded by constant changing energies of good and bad. Sometimes these energies causes frictions, and sometimes these energies complements many other aspects of our lives.

Being humans, we constantly strive to be the best version of ourself.

Being humans, we constantly progress forward and improve and grow so we become the best.

Acknowledging that we are only humans means we accept that we have all the goodness as much as flaws. Our possessed strengths and weaknesses are what make each and everyone of us unique.

But being humans, we also constantly fall into realms of dilemmas that confuses our being. To be or not to be? To go all out or to avoid totally? Which probably explains why some of us are so engrossed in fixing everything that is not right with us than appreciating our strengths.

Now instead of fixing our weakness, let me introduce you to this word ‘adjust’. Let’s adjust our weakness. How so?

We first choose one weakness to be adjusted. By working on one weakness, it may just flow through in aiding other weaknesses. For illustration purpose, say, we are someone who is impatient & angry most of the time. And we choose to work on our impatience. Day by day, we will adjust our mindset, our emotions and our actions that cultivate patience. Gradually, our impatience is dimmed by our calmness, regulating our feeling so we don’t get angry over small little things easily.

When we work on our weaknesses, whatever it may be, it doesn’t mean that this trait will disappear completely from us, instead we are just simply dimming it. Ideally, through mindfulness, we choose to adjust by appreciating our strengths and goodness within. We understand our values and we live through exhibiting them in our behaviours, our speech, our writing, & how we think.

Growing and being a better version of ourself is a continuous journey; so we leave footprints by the richness of our values. But not be fooled that we will someday be a ‘perfect’ human being by trying to be all good and virtuous; because in the end, what is good & virtuous are only to the extent of our ‘perceived’ harmless behaviours towards us & others.

Many years back, I read a book on Reincarnation/Rebirth printed by the Buddhist temple I used to visit. It says something along the lines of : “We are here temporarily on a borrowed term. The body we are in is a form lend to us; and when we leave this world, our souls disconnect from our physical frames and our bodies return to earth.”

So, if we are here as a temporary residents on Earth,

We shall Progressively learn to grow ourself from within to be a better person from your yesterself.

We shall respect life as we look after ourself to support others and the world.

We shall Seek to forgive ourself and others so we can always move forward in life.

We shall Be who we are supposed to be, genuinely even when we are in a masquerade.

A better version of us means there is always a chance that we can still screw up at times. Because … we are Only Human.

Be NOT the I who craves for perfection. – Sharon C”
