When we walk on the street and look around us, we make our initial judgement on what people’s life is based how they dressed, how they speak, where they eat, what they buy, how famous they are, what they could be doing for living and many more. Then we may just envy them for their lifestyle based on that moment we are watching them.
We think life is great for them and perhaps wish we have their life as we witness now. But we are ignorant of their life journey.
How we present ourselves on the outside is no assurance that our life is perfect because perfection exist only in our mind. We commonly experience emotional roller coaster or mental breakdown like everyone does. We get frustrated. We get angry. We have days we can’t carve a smile on our face. We feel our energy is depleting. When we look at ourself in the mirror, we see a face whose skin is blotchy and dark. We feel like a rod that is rusty.
In time like this, it is likely our soul is asking for a pause, asking for a breaktime.
It is ok to retreat for a moment and take a breather.
It is ok to whine and cry a river, if we wish.
It is ok to throw a tantrum during this ride.
It is ok to strip off all labels we and others put onto ourself, including the expectations.
It is ok to be our bare self.
We, deserve that space of peace to revitalize.
To renew, we must expel the mud.
To regenerate, the old must be removed.
To re-live, the past must be let go.
We know when we are not fit physically, mentally & emotionally. These in-between revival are opportunities for us to clean up and recharge. If we are unwell, we take rest to recuperate. It is only human to experience meltdowns and darkness. But we never give up entirely.
Ask for help, if we wish. It is always nice to have someone by our side where we are emotionally supported. Look around us, there will certainly be that someone who is always ready to support us. Allow ourself to be understood by them to be supported. Often, when we say help, we expect the ‘help’ will completely take away our pain, our sorrow, our discomfort. The truth is, the real help is within us. Support from others are the stimulus that perhaps create the space of revelation or realization for us.
We can't be happy all the time. We can't be positive all the time. Give space for these meltdown moments & dark phase in life to exist. We heal through understanding and learning. Upon retreating, we return with greatness.
If we feel we are melting away with the challenges which we are fighting hard, you are not alone. There are possibly millions of people in the same boat as us, just with different waves and storms to battle.
“Don't be shy of our meltdown moments for that acknowledges we are all human at the end of the day.”
